Dato’ Leong Kin Mun currently serves as the President of the Malaysia Biomass Industries Confederation, a recognized national industry association. He is also the Executive Director of Uni-Link Smart Venture Sdn Bhd, an Economic Studies and Commodities Consultancy firm registered with the Ministry of Finance (MOF). This company has been appointed by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) to lead national biomass consultancy studies.

In 2024, Dato’ Leong is being entrusted by several multinational corporations (MNCs) to spearhead feasibility studies in sectors related to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), bio-methanol (green marine fuel), bio-refinery plants (gasification technology), palm and woody biomass as well as oleo-chemical industries, with investments totaling USD 1 billion. This has solidified his position as a nationally recognized expert in biomass and biofuel, particularly in relation to feedstock economics and business models. Previously, he served as a Technical Advisor to the European Union (EU) – Malaysia Biomass Sustainable Production Initiative (BiomassSP) from 2010 to 2013, which was a high-level collaboration between the EU and Malaysia.
