Christian Pataky is the current Head of the Business Unit “Resources & Sustainable Industry” at ILF Consulting Engineers Austria GmbH, where he also serves as an authorized representative of the company. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria.
With over 17 years of international experience in the oil and gas industry, Christian has successfully led, managed, and supervised numerous onshore and offshore projects, encompassing oil and gas production, gas storage facilities, refineries, and petrochemical plants. His extensive career has taken him across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the CIS countries, where he has built a solid track record in executing complex projects in challenging environments.
Throughout his career, Christian has held various senior leadership roles, including Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Head of the O&G Project Department, Head of Business Unit Upstream and Head of Oil & Gas Projects & Engineering. Since 2020, he has been the Director of ILF’s Resources & Sustainable Industry business unit, focusing on driving innovation and managing the transition to more sustainable energy solutions. In recent years, Christian’s work has been closely aligned with the evolving trends of the circular economy. He has been actively involved in projects related to green hydrogen and ammonia production, carbon capture and utilization, e-fuels and the recycling of plastics. In a nutshell, Christian is eager to cope with the challenges and requirements of the energy transition and the related implementation of “new technology” projects. Outside of his professional life, Christian enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is happily married and the proud father of three children, aged 13, 11, and 8. In his spare time, he is an avid road cyclist and enjoys jogging, fitness activities and kite surfing.
