Shamsul Bahari bin Saad is the Head of Grid Development at Grid Division, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). Appointed to the role in October 2024, he oversees the planning and development of transmission infrastructure to support the expansion, reliability and long-term sustainability of TNB's Grid network.

A graduate of the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering), Shamsul began his career with TNB in 1996. With over 29 years of experience, he has held various leadership and technical roles across Grid Division, building extensive expertise in engineering, system operations and asset development.

In his current role, he leads strategic grid development initiatives, optimises infrastructure planning and resource utilisation, and supports the delivery of transmission projects to meet evolving electricity demand. His work also supports regional power interconnection initiatives, Malaysia's Energy Transition agenda, and the development of grid infrastructure to facilitate emerging industries, including data centres.
