More than 20 years of working experience in power and energy industry, Aernie started her career in 2005 with Jimah O&M Sdn Bhd as an Engineer overseeing the construction and O&M of Jimah Energy Ventures’ 2 x 700MW Coal Fired Power Plant in Jimah, Negeri Sembilan. She served 7 years in Jimah with her portfolio included operations implementation, commercial, contract management, plant performance and insurance.
She then continued her career in Malakoff Corporation Berhad in 2012 where she involved in contract, risk management, business development and project development for Thermal (coal and gas) and Renewable Energy projects including solar, hydro, Waste-To-Energy and waste management; local and overseas; both new projects as well as M&As.
10 years later in 2021, she continued her career path by joining a public listed co, Cypark Resources Berhad, leading the Business Development & Commercial Acquisition team in various RE projects which include large scale ground mounted & floating solars, rooftop solars, WTE, biogas, biomass and monetisation of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
In 2024, she joined UEM Lestra Berhad as the General Manager of Business Development, which is wholly owned by UEM Group, which in turn is wholly owned by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia. UEM Lestra spearheads UEM’s green energy platform, focusing on Renewable Energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
She graduated with double degrees; Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in Chemical Engineering & Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Minnesota, USA.
